Healthcare Management in High-Quality Medical Services


Healthcare management is a complex area that focuses on the best ways to streamline operations and ensure that more patients receive high-quality medical services. However, certain challenges tend to emerge that make it impossible for caregivers, physicians, and planners to forecast clients’ future demands. Different stakeholders need to identify all emerging issues and implement evidence-based solutions to transform the situation. This persuasive essay makes an argument for the issue of increased costs in healthcare management and how different stakeholders can resolve it.

Current Issue

Patients expect the existing medical systems to meet their demands by presenting quality and personalized medical services. Unfortunately, experts in the area of health management have realized that many providers charge more for specific services while at the same time reducing their operating margins (Vogenberg & Santilli, 2018). The levels of inefficiency in the sector have increased significantly in this country within the past three decades (Vogenberg & Santilli, 2018). Some facilities were charging inflated costs for specific services that could have been available for less. Consequently, the absence of proper mechanisms has forced patients to avoid seeking medical support for various health problems. According to Vogenberg and Santilli (2018), over 40 percent of American citizens have been unwilling to see a physician when they have specific conditions. Majority of the people would also be unwilling to undertake various medical tests or subsequence treatments. The increased bills associated with such services have resulted in this trend.

The professionals involved in healthcare management have failed to consider evidence-based strategies for streamlining operations, increasing transparency, and holding providers accountable for their fees or actions. The absence of powerful surveillance structures makes it impossible for the relevant agencies to identify specific institutions and facilities that fail to offer personalized and affordable medical services (Eldenburg et al., 2017). The end result is that the affected citizen is forced to pay for various drugs and tests that could have been provided cheaply.

Cost-saving remains an evidence-based practice that can transform the health sector of a given society and support the needs of more people. This becomes possible when those in managerial positions focus on quality and price reduction (Mackey & Bassendowski, 2016). Competent professionals implement superior measures to streamline operations and reduce wastes throughout the care delivery process (Vogenberg & Santilli, 2018). Although new concepts have emerged in the recent past to improve care delivery and efficiency, numerous challenges continue to affect the manner in which different institutions meet their patients’ demands.

Without proper incentives and solutions, chances are high that the American population will be unable to receive high-quality and affordable medical services. This current issue has the potential to disorient the current and future performance of the healthcare sector (Eldenburg et al., 2017). New solutions that require the effort of all stakeholders will be needed in order to change the current situation and provide timely medical services to more citizens.

Roles

The first stakeholder group in this issue include all managers and coordinators of healthcare systems. These professionals can collaborate and monitor some of the possible sources of wastes in the current model. The acquired insights will inform superior strategies and practices to address the situation and ensure that more people have access to affordable medical services. The second group is that of policymakers and politicians in the sector of healthcare (Piersiala, 2017). These individuals will present practical laws that can hold all physicians accountable and guide them to charge their services fairly. Bonuses might be available to clinics and professionals who minimize costs in the healthcare delivery process.

The role of insurance should not be underestimated since it dictates the overall health outcomes of different citizens. Companies operating in this sector can educate more people about the available programs and how they can result in cost-saving. Similarly, individuals need to identify the most appropriate medical covers depending on their needs (Vogenberg & Santilli, 2018). When more people embrace such an idea, the level of personal expenses throughout the care delivery process will minimize significantly. The current epidemic of terminal diseases explains why there is a need for these stakeholders to collaborate and eventually record positive health outcomes.

Finally, all involved parties need to engage in continuous research in an attempt to understand the causes of the increasing costs in medical care. They will go further to analyze some of the best practices that have worked effectively elsewhere (Piersiala, 2017). For instance, the case of Canada stands out since this country has managed to streamline operations, thereby meeting the health demands of more citizens without incurring additional medical expenses. These ideas should then be implemented to overcome the challenges affecting more people and eventually improve the efficiency of the entire sector.

Conclusion

The above discussion has identified the current increase in healthcare expenses as a major issue that requires an immediate solution. This health management challenge can affect the experiences and outcomes of the greatest number of citizens. The identified stakeholders can work together to identify the nature of this problem and introduce evidence-based solutions to meet improve the sector and makes it easier for more people to focus on their career or personal goals in life.
