United Airlines Overview: MIT Sloan Management
Organizations are able to work effectively because of their internal structure. To assess this structure, one must consider the organization’s culture, the work-life balance of the employees, and higher-up management. Moreover, the environment in the workplace should still be hot forgotten. In the current essay, this system of internal organization assessment is applied to American Airlines, being a large company with a tremendous background and complicated network of employees.
The most important factor to describe would be the culture of United Airlines. Precisely, the company values agility, collaboration, diversity, execution, its customers, innovation, and integrity. The organization seems to be a workplace where respect towards each other is considered a necessity (MIT Sloan Management Review, 2021). However, the work-life balance is viewed as somehow ill-performed by the organization. According to reviews of the jobs in the company, employees often get additional hours of work and can spend lesser time with their families (United Airlines, 2021). The organization aims to be less harmful to the environment and its employees at the workplace. Precisely, they have a plan if reduce the emission of the negatively affecting environment substances in the air. Finally, the higher management of the organization consists of the board of directors led by a CEO.
To conclude, in the course of the essay, several aspects of the structure and policy of American Airlines have been discussed. The organization seems to have an employee-friendly culture with core values important for workers. Unfortunately, it lacks a work-life balance in its jobs but is still progressive in the aspects of environmental policy. Its higher management is centralized under one company of well-educated people who can control the supervision of this large corporation.
