What Is Platelet Rich Plasma: Procedure Issues

Those, who want to try new methods of anti-aging that do not threaten health, should pay attention to Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). Even though the human body can heal itself greatly, in some cases, this healing might be too long, or it might not take place at all. For example, an injured knee may not receive the sufficient amount of blood to start healing; or due to age, the skin on one’s face starts sagging or it becomes covered with wrinkles.

The procedure of PRP is capable of helping people with orthopedic issues and those who want to rejuvenate their skin and look younger than ever. During this procedure, a patient’s blood is used for the treatment. The incredible healing abilities of the human blood make it perfect for this purpose. Moreover, the use of the patient’s own blood makes the procedure much safer if compared to other types of injections.

The Use of PRP

O-Shot

This treatment aims to improve the quality of one’s sexual life and solve some medical issues such as urinary incontinence and painful intercourse (dyspareunia). For this procedure, a nurse draws a small amount of the patient’s blood. In the centrifuge, this blood is spun in such a way that its platelets are separated from other components of the blood. The injection of PRP and calcium chlorate, which is used to activate it, performed in one’s clitoris and upper vagina helps to boost the rejuvenation processes.

PRP to Treat Hair Loss

This procedure can be helpful when hair transplant cannot be performed. It can be used by women and men to treat issues with hair loss and stimulate the growth of new hair. PRP is injected into the problematic areas. To make sure that the injections do not bring discomfort, a local anesthetic is injected into the scalp an hour before the procedure itself. It only takes 30 minutes to perform the procedure, starting with drawing blood and ending with the injections of PRP.

PRP treatment is also a natural way of hair restoration. Moreover, it can be used alongside hair transplant to boost the growth of hair. Usually, the treatment takes 3 sessions, every 4-6 weeks. After 4 months have passed since the beginning of the treatment, an evaluation will show if more treatment is required.

PRP and Skin Rejuvenation

Only PRP or the combination of fillers and PRP can be used to rejuvenate one’s face skin. PRP is especially beneficial to those who do not want to use fillers. The serum activated with PRP is injected under the surface of the skin. This injection stimulates the development of the body’s own filler. Some gel fillers might give better results, but the injection of PRP will also lead to the changes in the skin texture.

If the PRP-enriched serum is combined with fillers, the lifting effect is even better. The serum with PRP should be injected after the filler is injected into the area that needs to be corrected. It should be noted that the skin begins to regenerate almost instantly and the effect is visible very quickly. The market offers various fillers that can be used together with the PRP-enriched serum. The serum itself serves to prolong the effect of fillers for up to 6 months.

PRP Therapy for Joints

The injections of PRP are used to treat sports injuries and many other issues related to ligaments and tendons. This therapy aids in their regeneration. First, it helps heal pain, and the results will be long lasting. In a couple of weeks after treatment begins, the improvement will be felt and will continue to increase with the progression of the healing. It has been proven by clinical practice as well as research studies that the therapy using PRP is quite effective in healing, removing pain, and helping people live normal lives. The healing effect of the PRP therapy has been proven by numerous MRI images and ultrasound images that show repaired tissues. If PRP therapy is used, there is no need to have surgery as this type of therapy heals the injured tissues before the damage is irreversible.

Ozone Therapy

Ozone has been in use in medicine since 1857 due to its blood-purifying abilities. Later, ozone therapy was found to be useful in treating cancer and healing wounds. Nowadays, this therapy is among the most powerful therapies that use oxygen for healing.

Principles of Work

Sometimes, a human body can suffer from oxidative stress when the body produces an excessive amount of free radicals. Free radicals damage cells, causing inflammation and aging. The prolonged oxidative stress in the cases with chronic illnesses such as Lyme’s disease, lupus, MS, and so on, leads to the activation of inflammatory pathways in the body that are the body’s mechanism to neutralize this stress. Ozone treatment is used to regulate the immune systems and the inflammatory pathways.

Major Auto-Hemotherapy

Major auto-hemotherapy belongs to the systemic therapies to treat autoimmune diseases, cancer, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, heart diseases, chronic infections, and so on. MAH is also used in the treatment of macular degeneration. If the ultraviolet light therapy is also used together with MAH, it allows treating autoimmune diseases as well as various infections.

How It Works

Approximately 200cc of blood taken from the vein is mixed with 200cc of ozone and heparin for the blood not to clot. The ozone infused blood is transmitted back to the patient. The procedure lasts for 30-40 minutes. MAH almost has no side effects; it should be performed twice a week or more if the need arises. For maintenance, it is done once a month. Pregnancy, myocardial infarction, hyperthyroidism, bleeding, G6PD deficiency, and severe bleeding are the cases when MAH cannot be used.

Cases when Ozone Treatment Is Needed

Rectal Insufflation

Ozone therapy is used to treat various diseases of gastro-intestinal tract and colon-related conditions. The procedure that lasts for 40 minutes involves the injection of ozone into the patient’s rectum for the healing process to begin.

Interstitial Cystitis

This painful condition is characterized by the inflammation of the bladder walls. It significantly worsens a person’s life quality and manifests itself in the pain in the pelvic area, difficulties in urinating, and feeling of discomfort during sex. To treat this condition, ozone is injected into the bladder via a catheter after some preparatory procedures. Ozone rebuilds as well as regrows the healthy tissues of the bladder. This procedure can be done several times per week until the patient recovers, but the condition can be removed completely if hormone replacement therapy is also used.

Various Infections

For the treatment of infections affecting sinus and teeth, ozone shots are used in the combination with a specific medication. In the case of dental infection, the injections are made at the base of the unhealthy tooth. When saline is ozonated, it can be used to make applications to the problematic areas or treat infections. Moreover, it can be used for limb bagging when it is necessary to treat infections or ulcers. During this procedure, the limb to be treated is wrapped in a bag. After the air is removed from this tightly secured bag, it is filled with ozone. The procedure lasts for half an hour, and it can be repeated several times a day.

The injection of ozone-containing medication is extremely useful in treating the joint-related conditions and injured ligaments or tendons. Great support to the healing is provided by the injections containing various components, including ozone. It should be noted that there is no need to change the needle to make all injections. This treatment is effective for such conditions as carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, and many others.

IV Vitamin and Nutrient Therapy

Vitamins and minerals are indispensable sources of raw materials for the proper functioning of human body. The most common source of vitamins and minerals is food, but sometimes even the best and most balanced diet cannot provide the cells of the human body with all necessary nutrients. The lack of nutrient may lead to serious illnesses.

IV vitamins deliver the higher amount of nutrients if compared to the vitamins taken orally. In the stomach as well as liver, the absorption process of orally taken vitamins converts them or breaks them down. If taken in high doses, they might lead to diarrhea. Nutrients delivered via IV come to the bloodstream in a very tolerated and safe form. They almost have no side effects. Sometimes, to fight viruses or even cancer cells, IV of vitamin C is used. Intravenous injections of vitamin C work quicker and more successful than traditional forms of delivery of vitamins. Vitamin C is extremely useful when there is the need to fight the flu, sore throat, or common cold. Additionally, the IV delivery of nutrients is useful in wellness or anti-age procedures.

Thread Lift

The thread lift is a procedure used for the careful and non-invasive lifting of one’s cheeks, neck, brows, and jowls that tend to sag and droop as a person ages. Such a procedure can be easily personalized to fit the patient’s needs and wishes. Thread lift has advantages over other cosmetic procedures in that it does not leave scars, does not require invasive surgery, and it is more affordable than other procedures aimed at rejuvenating one’s appearance. Moreover, it promises a quick recovery and long lasting results. The procedure is performed using the local anesthetic, and the patient does not need to stay in a hospital after it. A thread lift can be suggested for use by both women and men starting from the age of 40. It can even be used at 70. It has the best effect on the skin that manifests little sagging in the above-mentioned areas – brows, cheeks, neck, and jowls. Therefore, if someone needs the effective skin lift and does not want to use Botox or have surgery with the general anesthetic, a thread lift is the procedure to be advised.
