The Nurse’s Role in Supporting the Organization’s Strategic Agenda

Introduction

The nurses contribute to the positive outcome of the patients in a great way. The manager’s view regarding the role of the nurses in the clinical outcomes and the ability of the hospital to achieve strategic agenda seems essential to take into consideration. The major purpose of the paper is to get a better understanding of the role of the nurse in the successful treatment process based on the interview with a manager of the Girard Medical Centre.

Summary of the Interview

I have chosen the Girard Medical Centre for the fulfillment of this assignment. It was essential to communicate with the manager to get deeper involved in the issue. However, the name of the manager will not be disclosed because of the principles of confidentiality. The reason I have chosen this medical establishment is that the mission of this health care organization reflects my position towards medicine. Girard Medical Centre cares about employees and patients as well as providing the staff with the opportunity to experience career growth and the patients with appropriate care and support. According to the vision of the Girard Medical Centre, the inspired team can achieve more progress and positively influence the patients’ outcomes.

The managers answered questions in a detailed way. It was evident that the objective and mission of the hospital is reflected in his ideas concerning medical issues. I came to the conclusion that the staff of the medical establishment is inspired and motivated. The manager stated that the role of the nurse in the healthcare organization should not be undervalued as the competence of the nurse and care that she delivers to the patients affects the outcome in a significant way (Forster, Dervin, Martin, & Papp, 2012). The gap between the client’s expectations and the quality of service the patient gets should be reduced, and the nurses are the fundamental force that can contribute to solving this problem. It is worth noting that the support and attention to the feelings and health of the patient can significantly improve the quality of care. Nurses are the ones who play a primary role in this question.

Patient safety should receive priority and the primary concern. It should be noted that the accreditation standards are essential for implementation and following (Thornlow & Merwin, 2009). The nurses should be professionals and require a certain level of competence because they influence the patient outcome directly.

Impact on Nursing Practice

The information gained from the interview helped to get deeper involved in the questions regarding nursing care and the role of the nurses in medical treatment. The manager’s answers were focused on stressing the significance of the nursing profession and ensuring the safety of the client. First and foremost, to positively contribute to the patient’s outcome, the nurse should be competent, professional, attentive, caring, provide support, and use the deep listening tactic (Ramanathan, Leavell, Wolfe, & Duane, 2014).

It is of paramount importance to highlight that the accreditation of nurses is an important element in providing high-quality health care. The strategic agenda of the hospital can only be accomplished if the nursing staff is competent in correctly performing their job. The quality of care is highly dependent on the way the nurses take care of patients.

Summary

In conclusion, it should be pointed out that the nurses are the fundamental element in the effective health care structure. Accreditation, attentiveness, support, and appropriate care are the key factors that positively influence the patient outcome and contribute to the accomplishment of the strategic agenda of the hospital.
